Florida Strawberry Festival

303 BerryFest Place, Plant City, FL 33563

The crown jewel of Plant City. Each March, this 11-day festival brings headline concerts, carnival rides, livestock shows, and every strawberry food imaginable. The Strawberry Supreme shortcake is a rite of passage. Headliners have included Alabama, Joan Jett, and major country acts.

Local tip: Buy tickets early for headline concerts — they sell out. Go on a weekday for shorter lines.

Parkesdale Farm Market

A Plant City institution since 1956. Famous for their towering strawberry shortcake and thick strawberry milkshakes, Parkesdale is equal parts farm market, gift shop, and local landmark. Fresh produce, local honey, plants, and the iconic strawberry treats draw visitors year-round.

Local tip: January–March for peak berry season. Weekday mornings to beat the line.

McCall Park & Historic Downtown

100 E Reynolds St, Plant City, FL 33563

The cultural heart of Plant City. The iconic fountain and white gazebo are the backdrop for Last Friday markets, the Christmas Parade, and NYE Strawberry Drop. Beautifully maintained with shade trees and benches — perfect for a stroll through the historic district.

Local tip: Visit during Last Friday (monthly) or golden hour for the best photos of the fountain.

Edward Medard Conservation Park

6140 Turkey Creek Rd, Plant City, FL 33567

A 1,284-acre park surrounding a sprawling reservoir with hiking trails, boardwalks, fishing piers, and excellent birdwatching. Alligators, turtles, and wading birds are common. Playground, picnic shelters, and a boat ramp available.

Local tip: The boardwalk trail is especially photogenic in morning mist. Great for engagement photos.

Dinosaur World

Located just outside Plant City, this open-air museum features over 200 life-size dinosaur replicas along shaded walking trails. A family favorite with a fossil dig, playground, and gift shop — kids love it.

Local tip: Bring sunscreen and water — most of the park is outdoors. Great for ages 3–10.

Bruton Memorial Library

More than just books — Bruton Memorial Library is a community hub with events, reading programs, and a local history collection that tells the story of Plant City. A beautiful, quiet space in the heart of town.

Strawberry Fields & U-Pick Farms

Surrounding farmland, Plant City, FL

During growing season (December–March), local farms open their fields for U-pick strawberries. There's nothing like pulling a warm, sun-ripened berry straight from the plant. Take a back-road drive on Trapnell or McIntosh for the perfect sunset views over the fields.

Local tip: Go early in the day — fields can be picked through by afternoon. Respect private property.

Keel & Curley Winery

A short drive from Plant City, this farm winery makes blueberry and fruit wines in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Tastings, tours, and a full restaurant make it a great afternoon outing.
